COUNCIL AFRAID TO HAVE CCRU MEMBERS ON NEW COASTAL HAZARDS GROUP


Critics of Coastal Hazards Fearful

...Christchurch Coastal Residents United has been highly-critical in Bay Harbour News of city council chief executive Dr Karleen Edwards' handling of the report and Mayor Lianne Dalziel's unwillingness to change LIMs.

Both Dr Latham and Mr Sintes are putting their hand up to be a part of the Coastal Futures Group, which has been formed out of discussions in the reference group. But Mr Sintes said a member had already been approached by the city council to be a part of the committee and her views differed from residents seeking LIM changes. I've seen it happen so many times. When council doesn't get the answer they want they create another group and hand-pick the people to manipulate the meeting and get the results they want," he said.
